Marshmallow
My niece sent me a hilarious video of those crazy Japanese and their crazy game shows. This one is by far the funniest I’ve seen. It even beats my old favorites, the Human Tetris and Crazy Treadmill. Check it for yourself.

Generation Kill
The creators of The Wire have a new mini-series coming out this July. Generation Kill is the true story of the First Marine Recon’s first 40 days during the invasion of Iraq. If their prior work is any example, this will be a must see.

Shuttle
Spent the weekend rebuilding the Shuttle. It used to be the old backup/LAN machine. Although, since it only went to one LAN, it was more like the living room PC (allowing us to surf the net on the flatscreen). I was testing it out recently for Leche’s LAN when I realized it was FUBAR. It couldn’t handle any of the games it used to, not to mention it kept locking up randomly. It fought me as I tried to reformat, so since it was giving me fits, I decided to start from scratch… all the way down to a brand new Western Digital hard drive. When that still didn’t solve it I had to turn to my uber-guru-pc-builder buddy. He pinpointed the locking issue as bad RAM. One more trip to electronics store and a few hours of sweat and tears later… and the Shuttle is back up (sort of). I had to strip everything out (including the video card) just to get it to work. So, for now it’s what it was rebuilt to be… Little Miss’ new computer. Now all we need is a new flat panel monitor to replace the honking 19″ CRT. Maybe I’ll rebuild the old machine as the backup gaming rig.
Speaking of hard drives, I picked up a sweet deal at Best Buy the other day. I found the last Seagate Free Agent 500GB External Hard Drive . SWEET!
