Shiny Objects

I recently stumbled across the Replica Prop Forum and it's great group of very talented individuals - all of them dedicated to the authentic replication of your favorite props. So far, I've only delved into painting casts of pieces created by others on the site or purchasing finished pieces from members worldwide. I am constantly amazed by the level of detail and research that goes into these replicas. I only wish I had the skill to contribute to the forum in a more meaningful way. Someday... but in the meantime, here are some pieces from my (growing) collection.

Rocketeer Helmet
This was my first go at painting a prop replica. I have the entire process documented here.
Part 1  Part 2  Part 3  Epilogue

T-1000 Replica LAPD Badge from Terminator 2: Judgement Day
An amazingly accurate replica of the LAPD badge worn by Robert Patrick as the T-1000.

Goonies One-Eyed Willie Doubloon
Goonies never say die! This was a fun one to work on. A resin cast of the doubloon was finished with multiple layers of Rub n Buff and some washes of burnt umber.

Men In Black Noisy Cricket and business card
I found the Noisy Cricket a few years ago at the San Diego Comic Con but the replica business card really completes the package. It's authentic to the movie version with embossed letters.

UPDATE: I've included some pieces in the collection in a new post.
